driving

Recently I've been trying to learn how to Top Gear drive.

Not the exciting stuff like driving around corners too quickly and shouting POWER! though. Mostly watching how they steer. They put their hands on the steering wheel differently (hands at 9:00 and 3:00), and you're not supposed to take your hands off the wheel but you can cross them in a turn. Of course this limits how much you can actually steer, but maybe this works better at 150 MPH. Doing this supposedly gives you a feel for the grip of the car, but I'm not exactly worried my Malibu's tail will slip out. So this is a mostly pointless endeavor.

Top Gear has also made me a carspotting snob. Not that there's much interesting around here, although I did spot a Volkswagen Golf R32 last week, and I think those things are kind of rare. That car might be fun to have, except it costs as much as a damn Evo.
